I've been active for a decade now, and doing better than ever.
Then why are you posting here of all places?
every once in a while you hear people say they actually “miss” their old witness friends and or family.
some would have even stayed in the organization if they became a bit more liberal and open minded.

remember those pesky scriptures about 'put faith in jesus and you will be saved' & 'getting baptized without delay'?
well, in this time of the end ™ we know better, and the latest march 2020 study edition wt sums it all up:.
before you can get baptized, there are a few other things you need to do.
At least the Society have explicitly stated that the person should make a dedication first.
Except the Bible doesn't even mention 'dedication' in regards to baptism. That's a JW construct.

The wt will soon be adding psychiatric screening
. . .
The screening will weed out those on the ever increasing 144,000
If they did that, nobody would be on the GB

Before you can get baptized, there are a few other things you need to do. As we learned earlier, you must dedicate yourself to God. Approach him in private, heartfelt prayer, and promise him that you will use your life to do his will. (1 Pet. 4:2) Then let the coordinator of the body of elders know that you want to get baptized. He will ask some elders to meet with you.
. . .
They will review with you the basic Bible teachings that you have learned. They want to make sure that you understand those teachings and that you are aware of the importance of dedication and baptism. If they agree that you are ready, they will inform you that you can get baptized at the next assembly or convention.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO DO
AFTER YOUR BAPTISM
Once you get baptized, what will you need to do?
. . .
If you have not yet completed your study of the books What Can the Bible Teach Us? and How to Remain in God’s Love, you should continue studying with a Bible teacher until you finish both books.
here comes old and senile pat robertson speaking on his television program, the 700 club.
robertson went on a rant (when asked by an audience member) on his thoughts about the death penalty.. robertson said:.
are you kidding?
I just looked up the statistics. Most people sentenced to death are white. A close second is black, and everyone else is far less.
Yes, blacks make up less of the population, but real life doesn't follow the rules of diversity. Blacks commit far more violent crimes > therefore far more likely to end up there. End of story.
not sure if this is the proper place to post this.
i have a book, it's 8.5 x 11. the cover looks exactly like the old "truth" book, complete with bible embossed on the cover.
slight title change.
It was a long wild goose chase, but I found that thread has nothing about what you're asking. It's only about the known original Truth book. I am intrigued though.

Um . . . I don't know much about Pat Robertson, but what's wrong with the death penalty?
i just got finished watching the afformentioned tv special, which is a recreation of original episodes of all in the family and the jeffersons with new actors, filmed live like they were originally.
while i was never a huge fan of shows like that, i do think the concept is fun in and of itself, and i laughed a lot (maybe cringed a few times 😅).
i noticed when the word "nigger" came up, just like in the original episode, they bleeped it.

Anybody else see it, what did you think?
i just wanted share a little more about my background and what i believe now, in case anyone is interested:.
i was basically brought up to be a “social justice warrior”, in a rather liberal christian environment.
as a teenager, i campaigned energetically for “third world debt” to be dropped, taking part in protests and political action and other charity work… i even travelled to genoa, italy for the g8 protest in 2001 and i was also present at another large international protest in geneva, switzerland and london, england….
Hi FaD, good to meet you. I am a Christian as well, but from what I've seen the Bible clearly says the physical world is nothing permanent. This isn't about just going the opposite of what JWs teach, but going where the facts lead. Regardless I'm always open to new ideas, so I look forward to your contributions to the forum.
